HGV Technician

Up to £23.00 per hour DOE
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and modern workshop environment in Reading.

Shift Pattern
Rotating Monday to Friday shifts:
06:00 - 14:30
14:30 - 23:00
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of commercial vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring maximum vehicle uptime and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
Complete repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and workshop procedures.
Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.
Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure efficient repairs.
Conduct road tests where required.
Assist with roadside breakdown support when necessary.
Report vehicle defects and ensure all work is completed safely.
Maintain workshop equipment, tools and working areas.
Support and mentor apprentices and trainee technicians.
What We're Looking For
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Positive attitude with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
Full UK Driving Licence.
HGV Licence advantageous but not essential.
